Bienvenue fellow gourmands! If you want to learn some efficient culinary techniques and recipes to please your tummy and expand your weekly menu, you've come to the right place.

As you might surmise, Beau's Bistro is humbly YACC (Yet Another Cooking Channel ;). And, now, why would I bother with something like this? It’s not to sell anything or compel anyone. Instead, it’s to effectively codify recipes and culinary know-how for family and friends in a way that is easy to share and reference. Especially, it is to pass on a bit of the family talent to my two boys in process of leaving the nest...and if I can bring you some pleasurable learning, feasting, and imbibing in the process, that would be merveilleux!
This should be a good YACC if you are interested in culinary arts that are:
Delicious
Practical
Value-oriented
Straightforward
Simple Comforts (that may still be waistline-friendly)
On the other hand, you WON'T find fancy, super-imaginative, expensive, complicated, or over-indulgent.
With campagnard roots, I generally approach cooking along the following themes:
The 80/20 Rule: 20% effort to produce 80% return. If something will require great effort or complexity, it had better produce something phenomenal.
Efficient Cooking: Techniques for minimizing time, mess, waste, and disappointment. My 20% might take others 40%...
Frugal Expenses: Scratch options, essential equipment, brand vs. generic, sales and discount sources. Spend the money for the biggest bang, and refrain for the whimper.
Frugal Calories: Make them maximize flavors while avoiding gratuitous calories and preservatives--though in no way does this imply a hypo-caloric pursuit.
While I will certainly mostly post recipes, I will also share posts on technique and knowledge. After all, while recipes are ultimately a great starting point, your ability to knock them out of the park and craft new ones will come from transcending a rigid list of ingredients and instructions.
BTW, when I add new content to this website, I will also share it on the Beau’s Bistro Facebook page. Thanks for visiting, and bon appétit!
Amicalement,
Beau
